Boeing

High School Intern
June 2014 - August 2014

As a high school intern at Boeing, I shadowed the senior optoelectronics and sensor engineer for the Defense, Space, and Security division. In addition to attending design reviews and other meetings with him, I was tasked with building a prototype fiber optic gyroscope (FOG). Building this required understanding the Sagnac effect, the principle phenomenon that makes FOGs work, and teaching myself optics.

Due to the confidential nature of this project, I am unable to discuss it in further detail. Please contact me if you have questions.
